Homelessness is not just about housing - it is a situation brought about by a combination of issues which are often outside your control. The entries below provide information on where and how you can find help for just some of the problems you may be facing.

CATH House is staffed 24hours a day and the staff can always offer help and advice.  You can call in (see the map on the Contact Us page) or telephone on 01738 449331.

Need somewhere to stay?

If you are homeless or are about to become homeless you should contact:
Perth & Kinross Homeless Advice Centre, 68-86 Scott Street, Perth on 01738 458800.
You can arrange to meet with a member of staff who will carry out a homelessness assessment with you and explain your options. The Centre is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm.

CATH House is a direct access hostel where anyone who is homeless can present themselves at 2pm each day. Beds are initially allocated on a nightly basis which means you have to leave the hostel at 10am the following morning. You can return at 2pm the same day to request another night's accommodation.

There are other hostels in Perth that will provide you with temporary accommodation if CATH House is full. The CATH Outreach Team or Day Centre can help you access these other hostels.

If you are a young person between 16 and 24 you can also contact:
CATH Youth Initiative, based at our Day Centre (01738 633077).

Under threat of eviction?

If you are at risk of losing your home you should contact the Perth & Kinross Homeless Advice Centre, 68-86 Scott Street, Perth on 01738 458800.

If you are being threatened with eviction, but wish to oppose this action then you should seek legal advice. You can also contact Shelter on 01382 515 2528. For comprehensive advice about the steps to take when facing eviction, visit the Shelter website (click here).

Experiencing Domestic Abuse?

If you are experiencing or living with the threat of domestic violence you can contact Perthshire Women's Aid on 01738 639043. Women's Aid is a strictly confidential service offering one to one support, telephone support and refuge if needed. You can also contact them online by clicking here.

If you are fleeing domestic abuse you can also contact the Perth & Kinross Homeless Advice Centre, 68-86 Scott Street, Perth on 01738 458800.

Drug or alcohol issues?

If you are looking to address any problems with drug or alcohol use, the first point of contact should be your GP who will be able to provide you with the relevant options.

If you do not have a GP and are currently homeless you can contact Central Healthcare, 79 South Street, Perth on 01738 631032. Central Healthcare have a range of services to meet your health needs.
