CATH would not have developed into the successful organisation it is today without the on-going support and commitment of our dedicated volunteers: from the original band of volunteers who set up the organisation, to the existing Management Committee responsible for governing and leading this diverse organisation. We are always keen to hear from anyone interested in giving their time to CATH and we are always looking to recruit new volunteers into CATH at all levels.
Our typical volunteers are aged 16 or over, have a friendly and outgoing personality, a genuine interest in those affected by homelessness, a willingness to learn, are reliable with a non-judgmental attitude – and have a good sense of humour!
In return we offer an enjoyable and worthwhile experience, an opportunity to meet new people and a chance to use or develop your skills in areas such as cooking, retail, literacy and board/governance skills, but most of all an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by homelessness and its associated issues.
As well as an opportunity to learn more about homelessness, CATH provides specific training and on-going support relevant to the volunteering opportunities available. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to gain references for future employment or training with the added bonus of travel expenses.
